Workshops on “Capacity-Building in the Field of Local Development and Participatory Development”(Lebanon, 15-20 February 2010)

In cooperation with the League of Arab States, UNESCO, UNDP, OXFAM-GB (Middle East Partnership Program) and ACRLI, ESCWA held two valuable workshops on “Capacity-Building in the Field of Local Development and Participatory Development” at “Padova Hotel” (Sin El-Fil, Beirut) from 15 to 20 February 2010. The first workshop targeted Iraq while the other targeted Yemen, Palestine and Lebanon.

The holding of these two workshops comes within the context of implementing ESCWA’s third activity related to the semi regional project entitled “Participatory Human Development in Post-Conflict Countries”. It also comes within the context of resolution No. (475) issued during the 24th session of the Council of Arab Social Affairs Ministers mandating the Social Policy and Development Division at the Arab League to coordinate national development projects with ESCWA and implement them jointly with member countries.
